Blog Search Engine - a blog search engine scours the web cataloging only blogs. They generally do not catalog regular web sites. Their results generally are skewed to very recent postings instead of the 'best' result you may get from a regular search engine such as Google or Yahoo!.

RSS Reader - blogs and RSS (real simple syndication) go hand in hand - though you can have either without the other. Instead of visiting blog sites that you are interested in to see if another entry has been made you can just use a RSS reader which will tell you when there are new blog entries. If the RSS feed contains the full text of the entry you generally don't even need to visit the blog's web site to read it. Some of the more popular Mac readers are Netnewswire, Newsfire and PulpFiction. Newer versions of Safari also will read RSS feeds but RSS Readers are generally the preferred way to go.
